Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) is seeing growing commercial interest in rare earth metal and alloy products from its Korean Metals Plant (KMP), with confirmed sales to magnet manufacturers in the United States and Europe.
ASM has recently concluded the following binding sales purchase orders:
- 15 tonnes of NdFeB alloy to Noveon Magnetics (USA), with deliveries scheduled across 2025 under an existing 100-tonne agreement.
- 7.2 tonnes of NdFeB alloy to Vacuumschmelze (Germany), to be delivered in stages from July 2025.
In addition, ASM has delivered 100kg of commercial alloy samples to USA Rare Earth and completed a 19-tonne NdPr metal order to Magnequench, part of Neo Performance Materials. Discussions for further sales are ongoing.
To support these orders and growing validation activity, ASM is sourcing oxide feedstock from existing stock and Australian supply, with discussions also underway with international suppliers, including Ucore Rare Metals.
These developments mark continued progress in ASM’s efforts to build a secure, ex-China supply of rare earth metals and alloys for global magnet supply chains.
